The Founders and the CEO of Jake’s House often say: “Four walls and a roof are simply a house. It only becomes a home when a family moves into it.”

On November 24th, Jake’s House recognized a brilliant, kind and passionate young man, who joined our family long ago and has helped make Jake’s House a home for over a decade.

Ron Adea has made an incredible impact on not only our charity, but also on his peers and on the greater community. A talented concert pianist, he uses his unique gifts and big heart to raise awareness, inspire others and spread hope. For these reasons, 60 top supporters gathered at the Toronto Congress Centre to pay Ron tribute, as we honoured him as the 2019 Jake’s House Legend of Distinction.

In this heartwarming ceremony, Ron shared touching and genuine remarks, before gracing the audience with a very moving performance of Kiss the Rain. In that moment, the volunteers, the community partners, the donors and the families in the room were united by Ron’s gift, by his song. In that moment, it was clear that Jake’s House has only become a home thanks to warm, remarkable souls like Ron.
