Spirit of the Six

Last weekend the Toronto Catholic District School Board hosted its leadership event. With the theme of “Spirit of the Six”, each of the participating schools had to select a community leader to showcase. We are grateful to the team at Chaminade College for choosing Jake’s House.

Chaminade’s spirited students showcased Jake’s House by wearing blue gear to represent autism, by skillfully producing a touching video that tells our charity’s story and through a powerful and hilarious live performance.

The talented students entertained the audience with their humour, dancing abilities and lip syncing skills, but even more impactful was the story that was shared below the surface, highlighting the reality that some students get excluded and the importance of including everyone. As a grand finale, they concluded with all of the students on stage, performing “We’re all in this together.”

The crowd was impressed–so much so that the Chaminade team won for best showcasing their community leader of choice! As a prize, a $500 donation was made to Jake’s House. Thank you, Chaminade brothers, for being such amazing ambassadors and for being role models to us all.  #brotherswearblue
