Please join us for this 10 week complimentary online STEAM Coding workshop.

This STEAM Coding Workshop uses a fun, colourful programming software and educational tool called SCRATCH. Meet with your friends and expand your coding abilities in this weekly virtual workshop, where you will explore your creativity and design your personal Minecraft world and characters.

Skills Developed: coding, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration

This program welcomes all individuals from 4-30+ years of age.

Dates: 10 Thursdays @ 4:00 pm-5:00 pm EST through October 5th-December 7th 2023

You are not required to download any software. Our virtual events are made to be accessible on multiple platforms (PCs, Chromebooks, MacBooks, iPads, etc.). You will receive an email confirmation containing a Zoom link to join the workshop. Please check your spam folder as the confirmation email may end up there. For the best workshop experience, please use either Edge or Chrome internet browsers.

Planning to visit the CNE this year? Make sure to spot Jake The Goose as part of the Goose on the Loose exhibit, located in front of the Princess Margaret Fountain. Our creation has been beautifully painted by artists from our Jake's House ASD community: Asheron, Abdullah, and Eddie!
Culinary Event At Edithvale Community Centre
On June 10th, 2023, Jake's House hosted a special culinary event led by Natalie in our Jake’s Hangout Workshop.
Special Guest Day- Watercolour Painting & Soccer Workshops
On May 27th, 2023, Jake's House hosted a Special Guest Day that featured back-to-back workshop fun! The day included a Watercolour Painting Workshop followed by a Soccer Workshop held in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Dreams Take Flight 2023 Recap
On May 2nd, 2023, dreams became reality as the Jake's House team had the incredible honour of accompanying four children on the autism spectrum - Cameron, Aiden, Adam, and Carlos - to the magical Walt Disney World. After being awarded the trip in 2020 and enduring the challenges of the pandemic, this group finally had the opportunity to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Let's dive into the unforgettable moments of their day!
Jake's House Employment Expo in Ottawa and London
Created to equip individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities with the tools needed to find meaningful employment, the team at Jake’s House had the privilege of rolling out its first two Employment Expos – Ottawa on April 17th and London on April 28th, 2023.
Peel Regional Police and Community Partners Launch Autism Strategy
On May 2nd, 2023 Peel Regional Police, in collaboration with Jake’s House and other autism community partners, announced the launch of a strategy to strengthen how police can best serve the autistic community in Peel.
