Jake’s House Employment Expo- Toronto Recap
On October 12th, Jake’s House achieved a significant milestone in its mission to transform the employment landscape for the autism and developmental disability community as they hosted the Jake’s House Employment Expo in Toronto for the very first time. This year, Jake’s House proudly organized this expo in three cities: Ottawa, London, and now Toronto.
The event was a remarkable gathering that spanned 8 hours, bringing together job seekers with autism and developmental disabilities, along with forward-thinking employers representing diverse industries. It created an inspiring day filled with opportunities for networking, professional skill development, and future employment opportunities.
Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to access valuable resources aimed at improving their professional employment skills. Dedicated booths offered sessions in areas like Resume Building, Professional Profile Development, and Interview Skills. The event also fostered connections with inclusive employers, all the while promoting the fundamental principles of inclusion, diversity, and the pursuit of equal employment opportunities.
They wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the talented attendees, dedicated employers and partners, passionate volunteers, Woodbine Banquet and Convention Hall, and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development of Ontario.
