On July 26th, 2018, TD Bank recognized Jake’s House Co-Founders Irene & David Bodanis as “Local Heroes” for their contributions to the community, and presented our charity with a donation to help further our efforts to support families affected by autism.

TD designed this customer appreciation event to recognize and thank individuals who are devoted to opening doors for a more inclusive tomorrow–and that has been Irene and David’s aim since day one.

The proud parents of three boys, two of whom are affected by autism, Irene and David first built Jake’s House in 2014 as a place where all can feel welcome, a place where help and hope live. Since our charity’s family has grown significantly, yet we remain committed to inclusivity and advocacy, understanding that it is our community that makes Jake’s House a home.

On December 10th, the Jake's House family gathered at the Infinity Convention Centre to celebrate a day full of holiday warmth! It was a day we forged connections with new families and individuals, as well as reunite with those already part of our diverse community, including members from our programs such as Legends Mentoring, Employment Training, and Inclusive Housing.
